After some initial excitement regarding writing a book about software development and my experiences with it I have discovered a new book written by Kent Beck (of XP fame) called Implementation Patterns which I believe perfectly covers some of the material I was planning to write about.
I am happy that Kent (whose ideas and work I respect a lot) has published this book and look forward to read it. I still have a few ideas though that I would like to work with in written form so more about this later. I might have to change the form and approach a bit :)

Brother, you are an inspiration and an icon in my life but this is one of those rare times when I simply do not agree with you. If every author in the world thought as you did right now we would be stuck with single sources of information on every subject imaginable. That in turn would leave us at the mercy of whoever managed to produce the material the fastest and not, as one would hope, the one who was the best or most comprehensive authority on the matter.
This in turn leads to a situation where we do not promote critical thinking or, indeed, understanding the value of researching multiple sources before decisions and approximations are made. In essence we degenerate into a screened reality without diversity. Think of the _children_, Mikael.. the children. (Yes, I am exaggerating... but I still think that your reasoning is flawed and that you most definately should still write that book as you indended it and deal with editing it to suit the context in which you want to publish it later.)
He he... as usual my dear sister you are right as ever :)
